The BTBC House Fighter, as voted by the members of the community, is the fighter that most represents our community through either style, attitude or ability.
To avoid the label of front-runner, The BTBC has limited their choices for house fighter to only those who have yet to receive a world title shot.

The votes were close, but have been tabulated for our next division winner and here are the winners:
BTBC Cruiserweight House Fighter

Troy Amos-Ross (born July 17, 1975 in Georgetown, Guyana) is a Guyanese Canadian boxer, currently residing in Brampton, Ontario. He competed in the light heavyweight division at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia and 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia.
In the 1996 Olympics, after having defeated Roland Raforme (Seychelles) and Paul M'Bongo (Cameroon), Ross lost 14-8 in quarterfinals to Kazakhstan's eventual gold medalist Vassili Jirov. Ross entered the 2000 Olympics as a gold medal hopeful, however he was eliminated after a disappointing loss in his first fight.
Ross turned pro after the 2000 Summer Olympics, however he announced his retirement in 2005 after compiling an impressive record of 13-1, due to the inability to get quality fights. In 2007 Troy began a comeback and on March 19, 2007 he captured the Commonwealth Cruiserweight title by knocking out John Keeton in the second round.
In 2008 Troy joined the cast of the boxing reality TV show The Contender filming in Singapore. He became a member of the gold team and on 14 January 2009 won his first round contest against Australian Lawrence Tauasa. He fought American Felix Cora Jr. in the quarter finals winning when the fight was stopped after 2:48 of the first round. In the semi finals Troy faced Nigerian Akinyemi Laleye, the fight was scored 50-45 by all three judges in Troy's favor. Troy fought another Nigerian, Ehinomen Ehikhamenor, in the Contender final on February 25, 2009 at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. Ross defeated Ehikhamenor by fourth round TKO to become the Contender Champion.

BTBC Super Middleweight House Fighter
Name: James DeGale

“He’s done it, James DeGale is a gold medallist.”
Nobody saw it coming, DeGale was a true outsider. ‘Chunky’ had been drawn into the top half of the Olympic draw, undoubtedly the strongest half, with the likes of Matt Koborov, Shawn Estrada, Darren Sutherland and lower weight champion Bakhtiyar Artayev from Kazakhstan, all taking the route that no Eastern Asian fighter would have to. Coincidence or not, they got on with it.
DeGale began his campaign with a comprehensive 13-4 victory over Egyptian Mohamed Hikal, before facing Shawn Estrada, one of the pre-tournament favourites. DeGale began quicker than expected before staying out of reach to defeat the American hopeful 11-5.
The two favourites, Koborov and Artayev engaged in a very tense affair, with Artayev emerging the winner. DeGale had to face the toughest test throughout the competition, and again, turned the tables to win 8-3.
The Englishman was guaranteed a medal as he was in the semi finals, with good friend Darren Sutherland standing in the way. In their previous meetings, Sutherland had won 4 out of 5 and was firm favourite to coast through to the final because of his easier route. Not to be, DeGale managed to bring his defensive mind to the ring to outfox the front foot Sutherland by 10-3.
His big day had arrived, Emilio Correa from Cuba was his challenger. In a scrappy, dirty affair, DeGale eked out a 16-14 win to capture the gold medal. Turning professional was only a matter of time, especially with every promoter in the game chasing his signature.
And after five professional fights, all easy and uncompetitive, DeGale attempts to re-capture his place in the British fight fans’ hearts after he was booed on his debut.
The BTBC give him our full support and tip him for big things. DeGale returns on February the 13th, against an unnamed opponent.
BTBC Middleweight House Fighter
Age: 22
Record: 18-0 (15 KOs)
Nationality: American
This highly decorated amateur stand-out ran away with the voting as the members of The BTBC were almost unanimous in their selection of Jacobs as their middleweight house fighter.
Jacobs blends well-practiced technique with controlled aggression and has been absolutely outstanding against his opposition to date.
Named 2009 Prospect of the Year by Dan Rafael of ESPN, Jacobs finished out the year by clearly passing his toughest test to date by winning the vacant NABO Middleweight Title vua UD from slick and well-travelled, Ishe Smith.
The new BTBC Middleweight House Fighter now seems poised to pounce at a world title at some point in 2010.

BTBC Jr. Middleweight House Fighter

(born: April 11, 1983 in Cuba) boxed as an amateur boxer in the welterweight class. Lara has won three consecutive national amateur championships at welterweight (2005-07), and was the world champion at welterweight in 2005. Lara, who was considered to be one of the favorites at welterweight for the 2008 Beijing Olympic games, left the Cuban amateur boxing team on July 22, 2007 during the Pan-American games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Lara left the team with Guillermo Rigondeaux, and initially was reported to be turning professional with ARENA Box-Promotion and Ahmet Oener However, Lara was subsequently arrested with Rigondeaux, and stated that he wanted to return to Cuba. Lara subsequently escaped from Cuba again via speedboat to Mexico. He has since signed with Arena Box-Promotion and turned professional in July 2008.
With an amateur pedigree and an exceptional skill set, Lara earned his way to victory in The BTBC's search for the Jr. Middleweight who most represents what they look for in a fighter.
BTBC Welterweight House Fighter
Because no clear winner could be established by the voters, BTBC Admin, Paul Magno, has made an executive decision and decided that there will be two BTBC house fighters at 147 lbs.

Philly Fighter supreme, Jones, has it all. Speed, power and a legit mean streak.
Overshadowed by some of the flashier names at welterweight, Jones has been biding his time, upping his game and working his way through the ranks.
Already with a solid resume of respectable club fighters, Jones faces his toughest task on February 27th against former world title challenger, Henry Bruseles.
Congrats on the honor Mike, The BTBC will be watching.

The pride of Sheffield, Brook seems to have it all. The sky truly is the limit for this outstanding young fighter who has already captured the British Welterweight Title.
With explosive speed, Brook has set himself apart from the rest of the UK welters and hopes to establish himself on the world stage in 2010.
With such natural ability and sky-high potential, it's little wonder why the members of The BTBC voted him co-house fighter for the 147 lb. class.
